100 Tears (2007)
Review by David Rupp

After being accused of crimes he did not commit, a lonely circus performer exacts his revenge on those who unjustly condemned him. The act sparks something inside of him which he cannot stop and now, years later, his inner-demons have truly surfaced. Part urban legend, part tabloid sensationalism... he is now an unstoppable murderous juggernaut, fueled only by hate.

Directed by: Marcus Koch & Written by: Joe Davison Starring: Raine Brown, Joe Davison, Georgia Chris, Jack Amos, Jeff Dylan Graham, Kibwe Dorsey, Rod Grant & Norberto Santiago.

One thing you'll notice first off is the almost laughable dialog, once you get over that the film delivers in an almost strange fashion. Gorehounds will NOT be disappointed by 100 Tears, blood guts and ass are everywhere, almost to the point of (never thought I'd hear myself say this) being over done. The camera work is creative and innovative, along with with a really fitting score and rockin soundtrack (even the headscratching appearance of Voltaire).

I have a few problems with this one, I understand indy film is supposed to be cutting edge, and these are up and comers, but.....Some of the dialog and overall writing make one go: WTF? That mixed with some weaker acting on one end and an overachieving psychoitc daughter on the other, 100 Tears runs the acting range gammit. But I did enjoy it on the whole, it did it's job. I reacted and interacted with scenes, followed the story, comprehended the characters and understood the plots. Not my favorite, but not a bust, this middle of the road film has over the top gore, not truly a saving grace but it does as Emeril says "kick it up a notch". 6/10
