Attack Girls Swim Team Vs. the Undead (2007)

Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Koji Kawano

Starring:
Sasa Handa/Aki
Yuria Hidaka/Sayaka
Ayumu Tokito/Mariko

Plot:
A lab mix-up accidentally swaps a vaccine with a virus that turns a high school full of students and teachers into flesh-eating zombies. But all is not lost: New student hottie Aki discovers that the swim team is immune to the plague. With the school rampaged by ravenous monsters, the girls engage in an over-the-top orgy of gory violence to save the day.

Acting:
The acting in this flick was pretty bad, other than Sasa the rest of the cast was just there to get killed or have some sort of lesbian scene, in most cases this wouldn’t be bad but in this film it was lame. Sasa Handa(Aki) was are lead with no emotion or she just never been in a film before. She was just horrible and set the pace for the film to come.

Gore:
There was a ton of gore here, we get some off screen stuff, head’s and limbs cut off in mega portions, biting, flesh eating, scissors to the head and tons more. If you watch this movie for anything it should be for the comical gore effects.

T & A:
We get like 4 or 5 pairs of Japanese water bags here, I lost count because I couldn’t tell some of them apart.

Directing:
Koji let me down here, the editing was sloppy and the movie itself looked pretty bad compared to other movies like this I have seen. The only good thing I can say is that he used practical effects and the makeup was good also.

Soundtrack:
We get some metal music score here and there when the zombies attack other than that we get a somber score that is really good and adds tension, I have no clue why it wasn’t used more.

Final thoughts:
Well I was going into this film wanting to see a crazy gory low budget zombie flick, what I came out with was a soft-core porn mixed with some zombie movie where the zombies didn’t look or really act like zombies. The acting was horrible, the plot was paper thin and just stupid, and honestly I would not recommend this to anyone. I give it a 3/10.
