Stone Sour Announces Special NYC Show to Celebrate Release of New Album AUDIO SECRECY

New York, NY: (August 16, 2010) - As they gear up for September 7th release of highly anticipated new album AUDIO SECRECY, 3-time Grammy nominees STONE SOUR have announced plans for a special intimate show/record release party at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City on August 30th.
The special performance will be available for the entire world to see via a live stream that can be viewed on stonesour.com and roadrunnerrecords.com beginning at 8:30 pm EST.
Among the songs in that night's set will be hook-laden lead single "Say You'll Haunt Me," (currently No. 6 at Active Rock and No. 17 at Modern Rock radio) and hard-charging new track "Mission Statement." The band recently offered the latter as a free download and the response was massive, as fans downloaded the song more than 1,000 times an hour during a two-day period.
Stone Sour (lead vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarists James Root and Josh Rand, bassist Shawn Economaki and drummer Roy Mayorga) and producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Deftones) recorded AUDIO SECRECY at Blackbird Studios in Nashville during the destructive storms and devastating floods that hit the historic heart of Music City.
The group will be playing select songs from the album during this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, a 36-date tour that launches August 17 in Minneapolis, MN and will visit arenas and amphitheatres across North America before wrapping October 4 in Madison, WI. Prior to Uproar, Stone Sour will join Guns 'N Roses, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and many more at the "Rock 'N Rev Festival" in Sturgis, SD on August 11th, followed by radio shows August 13 in Springfield and August 14 in St. Louis.
AUDIO SECRECY is the follow-up to the gold-certified Come What(ever) May, which was also produced by Raskulinecz and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and spawned three radio hits, including the No. 1 smash hit single, "Through Glass," "Sillyworld" and "Made of Scars." Billboard hailed the record as "an intense, taut piece of work," Alternative Press called the group "masters of ass-kicking," adding, "In a better America, Stone Sour would be the face of American rock" and Revolver magazine gave the disc four stars and praised the quintet for "demonstrating a dynamic range equaled by few of their peers." Stone Sour's self-titled debut, also certified gold, spawned the band's first breakthrough hit "Bother," which was spotlighted on Spider-Man soundtrack.

Adam Dutkiewicz and Jesse Leach Re-Team For Times of Grace, Album Due This Fall

Former members from Alive or Just Breathing-Era Killswitch Engage form Times of Grace, Album due ot November 9th.
New York, NY: Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and former KsE vocalist Jesse Leach are re-teaming for Times of Grace , a brand new band that finds the duo taking a creative left turn, boldly exploring new musical terrain, while fearlessly digging deep into the recesses of their musical synergy. It has yielded a provocative, heavy-yet-melodic result, one that helped each of them overcome personal struggles and emerge from the darkness, more empowered than ever.
The pair's collaborative energy and chemistry obviously yields quality, long-lasting results, as they worked together on KsE's benchmark album, 2002's Alive or Just Breathing. That record has become definitive for an entire generation of American metal, with Leach's voice and uplifting lyrics serving as one of the key elements that propelled the album to "modern classic" status. Leach, who went on to sing for the more classic-rock leaning Seemless and who currently sings for the metal band The Empire Shall Fall, was always remembered fondly by KsE fans, even though he left the band shortly after Alive or Just Breathing's release.
While fans will no doubt be thrilled at the concept of the duo reuniting, Times of Grace, however, are not interested in fashioning Alive or Just Breathing, Part II. It's an entirely new project and represents a different musical path for both Adam D. and Leach! It is an album of cleansing and catharsis for each of them, where internal demons were exorcised and set to music that's as aggressive as it is melodic. The pair are currently in the studio working on their debut, The Hymn of A Broken Man, which is due out November 9 through Roadrunner Records.
"In all my life. I have yet to write a record that bares my soul as much as this record does," Leach said. "Adam and I had a real spiritual connection while making this and I know that it comes through in the performances and lyrics. This record has our blood, sweat and tears flowing through it. It is painfully honest at times. In short this record is our catharsis."
Adam D. also commented on what Times of Grace means for him personally, saying, "Making this record was something completely new for me. It documents some of the most difficult, yet spirited times of my life in the past three-and-a-half years. A lot of the music and lyrics just came out of me while going through several internal struggles, and writing these songs were the only comfort I could find. I reached out to Jesse to help sing and write these songs with me because of my respect for his musical abilities, and because of our great friendship...one that seems to not change no matter what happens in our lives.
"In the end, I am very proud of this record, and I feel it has helped me through some of my darkest days. I'm hoping that people will enjoy it, and also that it can maybe help others to keep the most positive mindset, even through the most trying of times."
The album begins with the percussive, almost militaristic "Strength in Numbers," which pairs layered vocal melodies with thunderously roaring drumbeats; "Fight For Life" bites with ferocity, but is balanced out by Leach's emotive vocals; while "Willing" boasts a more contemplative yet just as feral vibe. Times of Grace aren't going back over ground that its members have already covered; they're moving forward, incorporating stunning, eye-arresting visuals alongside their music, which features rich layers of instrumentation that invite the listener to sift through.

Hard Rock Band LORDI Releases iphone Game - LORDI the Game

Game will be available Monday, August 9 to coincide with the release of new single This Is Heavy Metal Cover Art for Babez For Breakfast Revealed
Finnish hard rock band Lordi will release a game for the popular Apple iPhone. Lordi The Game will be released worldwide on Monday August 9, 2010 on the same day as "This Is Heavy Metal," the first single to be released from Lordi's upcoming album, Babez For Breakfast out September 14 in North America on The End Records. The game features two songs the album, This Is Heavy Metal and I Am Bigger Than You.
In the game, the player takes the role of Mr. Lordi, who has to banish the undead from the underworld. The milieu of the game varies from a cemetery to a flight crash area and at each level of the game, monsters are seen in a different look. Players will hear Mr. Lordi himself encourage better performance and reward skilled gameplay.
The game includes six levels with three levels of difficulty each. When the player has passed one level of difficulty, the game will present exclusive images of the band members, which are not available elsewhere.
Mr. Lordi commented: "The entire band is happy to be able to step into the game world. The nicest thing in this game is that the player is able to step into Mr. Lordi's imaginary boots and swing the ax, which I swing on stage. This is Lordi's life, a continuous battle from day to day," he continues. "We are happy that we are able to serve our fans on this sector too," Mr. Lordi emphasizes.
Lordi The Game will be released on August 9th through Lapland Studio® Oy Ltd . The company CEO Ilkka Immonen is happy about their new cooperation with Lordi. "I find it great that we are able to work together in the game world. Mr. Lordi and I have known each other for a long time and this is only a beginning to our long partnership. Our story will continue also on other game formats."
Lordi also revealed the cover art for Babez For Breakfast earlier today on their Facebook page.
Lapland Studio® Oy Ltd is a Rovaniemi-based game company, who works for various different game companies worldwide. It also releases its own games. After a triumphant European tour that included appearances at the With Full Force and Dour Festivals, Antarctic rock gods GWAR have returned to their ice-bound fortress, to drink blood and begin work on their newest and most gut-crushing album yet. That's right, right now, at the sorta halfway point of GWAR's special two-year long 25th Anniversary Slay-a-Bration, Slave Pit Inc. and Metal Blade Records are proud to announce the title of GWAR's new album...
"Our new album is called Bloody Pit of Horror," said ODERUS URUNGUS, front-thing and leading female impersonator. 'We are fully aware that there is a movie of the same title, I assure you it has nothing to do with it, save the title, which we stole from them. But you see, we're calling it "GWAR's Bloody Pit of Horror", and that's a little different, so hopefully we won't get sued!"
The new album is reportedly "heavy as fuck", and features songs like "Hail to Genocide", "Storm is Coming", and "Tick-Tits". "That's a song about a chick whose tits are covered in ticks...big fat gray puffy ones", said Oderus. A full track listing and official release date is expected soon.
In other GWAR news, the Slave Pit, GWAR's pit of slaves, located in Richmond, Va. (because of the excellent crack and large art school), is busily preparing for the re-awakening of an ancient GWAR tradition, the GWAR-B-Que! Back in the early days of GWAR, the slaves used to throw parties in the Pit in the hopes of attracting helpless women. These parties grew in size and fury as other bands and insane artists got involved...but then just stopped happening...

They were the prime mover, they preached back seat education, and together with Alice Cooper they fed Frankenstein....now they are back....meaner, leaner and heavier than ever. ZODIAC MINDWARP & THE LOVE REACTION will enter a new decade of heavy dirty street rock n`roll as they declare "We Are Volsung". Inspired by the Nordic mythology the album features ten brand-new unadulterated. The album will be available in three formats: CD, LP and digital download. The band has just unveiled the cover art for "We Are Volsung" which can be seen above.
SPV / Steamhammer are very proud to have the band on board for a journey to Valhalla and back. The album will be released in the North America on October 12th and followed by a US Tour in January /February 2011.
In a musical world of hairspray and spandex, two long haired leather clad rockers were introduced to each other by their "exotic dancer" girlfriends; one, a graphic artist and poet, the other, a budding philosopher. They immediately dropped everything, joined forces and created the dirtiest, wildest band of all time. One year later, they signed to Polygram and released the ground breaking High Priest of Love EP, and the Tattooed Beat Messiah album shortly after, which contained the well received single "Prime Mover".
Overnight, they accidentally changed the look of all the rock bands of the time from the obligatory spandex, eye liner and tinsel, to rough biker jackets, engineer boots and goatee beards. Mötley Crüe declared them to be their favourite band and immediately restyled themselves for their Girls, Girls, Girls record. ZMATLR grew in notoriety, touring the World and America, co-headlining arenas and theatres with Guns `N` Roses and finding themselves at home playing festivals and baseball stadiums with Iron Maiden. After attending a Hammersmith Odeon ZMATLR concert and giving it his seal of approval, Alice Cooper recorded the ZODIAC MINDWARP penned "Feed MyFrankenstein", which was later, performed in the film Wayne's World...
The critical acclaim of ZMATLR then caused rare misfortune, when they lost their young naive bass player to the lures of The Cult. The band soldiered on regardless. Sometime later, in Paris, Slam Thunderhide, their drummer decided to put down his sticks to become a Go-Go dancer in Vancouver.
Today with The Cat shaking the Earth on drums and Jack Shitt rumbling the low frequencies, they ride again, honing their skills playing for the Viking descendants in Scandinavia. From these tough, manly ordeals, a new set of recordings have been forged. "We Are Volsung" is the result, a celebration in the Norse tradition.

Early Man's 'Death Potion' In Stores Today

New Dates Added To Fall Tour
EARLY MAN today releases their sophomore full-length release, Death Potion, via The End Records. The Los Angeles and Brooklyn-based band recorded Death Potion in Seattle, WA at Soundhouse Recording with producer Jack Endino (High on Fire, Skeletonwitch, 3 Inches of Blood). All Music Guide commented, "Early Man are one of the few "vintage metal revivalists" that manage to get it right, as heard throughout the kick-ass Death Potion," while MetalSucks.net added, "I love the aggressive, tight and raw sound of this record; I immediately find it more appealing than so many of today's young thrash bands."
Early Man begin their headlining fall "Death Potion Tour" on September 30 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Evile and Bonded By Blood opening all dates. Tickets for all dates are now on sale. The four-piece will be playing a few dates in the Western US leading up to the tour, including dates in Las Vegas, Anaheim, CA, and Tucson.
Early Man released their debut album, Closing In in 2005 and followed by Beware the Circling Fin EP in 2008. True rock legends such as UFO are characterized not only by the fact that they have added several classic anthems to the annals of rock history, but that their musical output, after many years, still remains at such a consistently high level and they always have something new and fresh coming up. With classic albums such as "Phenomenon", "Force it" and "No Heavy Pettin" Phil Mogg, Vinnie Moore, Andy Parker and Paul Raymond still sound vital and imaginative to this day. With the upcoming album "Best of a Decade" you can experience this yourself - this best of album will be released September 28th via SPV/ Steamhammer.
There are more stories about UFO than actual songs that they have composed. Any band who has been in the music business for 40 plus years are bound to have experienced difficult times, but also dazzling success. UFO's story began in London way back in 1969, when vocalist Phil Mogg, drummer Andy Parker, guitarist Mick Bolton and bassist Pete Way formed the group, borrowing the band name from a legendary London music club. The band distinguished themselves with their very own, unmistakable style, touching a nerve among their growing following with rock numbers like 'Prince Kajuku', 'Follow You Home' or 'C'mon Everybody' from their albums "UFO 1", "Flying" and "UFO Live".
UFO's global breakthrough came when German guitarist, Michael Schenker, joined the fold in 1973, having left his band the Scorpions to accept an offer from Phil Mogg and Pete Way. UFO released three consecutive rock classics with Schenker ("Phenomenon" (1974), "Force It" (1975) and "No Heavy Pettin'" (1976)), featuring classics such as: 'Doctor Doctor', 'Shoot, Shoot', and 'Rock Bottom'. Following the arrival of keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Paul Raymond, UFO released the albums "Lights Out" (1977) and "Obsession" (1978), which included the hit singles 'Too Hot To Handle', 'Lights Out' and 'Only You Can Rock Me'. Their live release "Strangers In The Night" came out in 1979 and is still considered to be one of the best live releases of all time, unfortunately, this also brought about the end of the Mogg, Way, Schenker, Parker & Raymond line-up.
The reorganized band underwent fifteen years marked by various eras and numerous line-up changes. To everyone's surprise, autumn 1993 saw the return of the former UFO line-up consisting of Mogg, Way, Schenker, Parker and Raymond. This new edition of the classic team released the album "Walk On Water", their first joint effort after in over fifteen years and they embarked on a world tour. However, Schenker left UFO again during the "Walk On Water" tour to continue working with his own group, MSG, while Mogg & Way went on to release their second album, Chocolate Box. The UFO album "Covenant and Sharks", recorded by Mogg, Way and Schenker, arrived at the stores in 2000 and 2002. Vinnie Moore soon joined the band and recorded songs for the new album "You Are Here"which also featured Jason Bonham taking over the drumming duties. During the subsequent world tour, UFO recorded a show in Germany, which was later released as the live album, "Showtime", as well as a DVD featuring additional bonus material. In 2006 left UFO to join Foreigner and was replaced by UFO's original drummer, Andy Parker for their release "The Monkey Puzzle" In 2009 UFO released the critically acclaimed album "The Visitor".

Tarja Turunen to Release Highly Anticipated Sophomore Release, What Lies Beneath, in the US on August 31, 2010 via The End Records
The End Records is proud to announce the U.S. release of Finnish superstar Tarja Turunen's sophomore effort, What Lies Beneath, on August 31, 2010. The first single, "Falling Awake" (featuring Jason Hook from Five Finger Death Punch) will be released August 17 as a limited edition 7" through The Omega Order and available August 24 at all digital outlets . The track is backed with "The Good Die Young" - a song from The Scorpions most recent album that features Tarja's vocals. Featuring US exclusive artwork and bonus track, the new album from the multi-platinum singer was recorded and produced by Tarja and mixed by Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, The Cure, Robert Plant), Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Machine Head, Bullet For My Valentine) and Slamm Andrews (Scores of Angels & Demon, Pirates of The Caribbean, Gladiator).
Special guests on What Lies Beneath include Phil Labonte (All That Remains), Joe Satriani, Jason Hook (5 Finger Death Punch), Will Calhoun (Living Colour), Slovak National Symphony Orchestra and Choir and more. DIR EN GREY ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN CO-HEADLINING TOUR WITH APOCALYPTICA

DIR EN GREY announces a co-headlining tour with Apocalyptica that begins in Toronto on August 23 and concludes September 12 in Seattle, Washington. Dir En Grey is considered the biggest Japanese rock band ever, and their intense live shows are the perfect way to experience their global appeal. A long time ago metal was real, raw, angry, fast, and full of attitude. Bands like Slayer and Metallica started a great awakening, building their armies in the underground and over throwing bands like Ratt and Cinderella, who put more hairspray and make-up into their music than riff.
Today metal bands sing about breaking up with their girlfriends. They de-tune their guitars to make their music sound heavier than it is. They scream through the verse and whine through the chorus, and they replace solos with breakdowns.
It's time again for a new awakening, a GREAT AWAKENING. It's time for a new Slayer, a new Metallica, and a new Megadeth to come forward and form a new army. They call themselves GREAT AWAKENING because they are on a mission to make heavy metalwhat it used to be.
GREAT AWAKENING is an Orlando based metal band formed by brothers Nick and Vinnie Butera with the intention of starting an awakening of their own and reviving a genre that once ruled the world. They're music is a mix of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Overkill, and Pantera. Although they are youthful in age (18, 19, 19, 21) they've already grown quickly bringing in all demographics of fans, to witness their thrash revivals. TUB RING Announce Secret Handshakes Set For August 31 Release
Brooklyn, NY- June 10, 2010 - Chicago, Illinois's TUB RING announce the release of their fifth full-length, SECRET HANDSHAKES, due out August 31 on The End Records. The group recorded the 14-track album at Chicago's Electrical Audio and at keyboardist Rob Kleiner's own Studio Edison, with Kleiner doing double duty as producer.
"It's always a challenge when you enter a studio to get what's in your head out and on to the record," said Kleiner. "After intensely studying and practicing the art of recording and mixing for the last 5 years, I finally felt comfortable recording by ourselves. A whole year in the making - we had virtually unlimited time to do EVERYTHING until it was perfect. In the end, I feel that this is the first Tub Ring album where each recorded song captures every element we envisioned in our minds and hearts."
"It was great to work with Rob on vocals," added vocalist Kevin Gibson. "He's been hearing me night after night for over a decade now, so who better qualified? It was also nice to take away the pressure and time crunch. I think Secret Handshakes continues the trend of taking things into the unexpected, while still sounding like Tub Ring."
"Capturing the live energy of Tub Ring, on record, has proven to be an interesting task," commented bassist Trevor Erb. "This time, we succeeded in harnessing that energy, and created a rather colorful album in the process. There's an overall vibe and sound to this record that I haven't felt or heard before. In the span of 14 tracks we've created a party. Every song takes you in a different direction and you're not going to walk down any beaten paths. Tub Ring plans to uphold their 'hardest working band' status by taking their renowned live show on the road later this summer with dates to be announced shortly. Meanwhile, fans can check out the songwriting skills of Rob Kleiner, whose song "What Part of Forever" was just recorded by Cee-Lo Green (Gnarls Barkley) for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack.
