Basket Case (BD) (2011)

Review by David Rupp

A young man carrying a big basket that contains his deformed Siamese-twin brother seeks vengeance on the doctors who separated them against their will.

Written & Directed by Frank Henenlotter
Starring: Kevin Van Hentenryck, Terri Susan Smith and Beverly Bonner

This is another of those modern classics/cult films you should have seen already. A definitely creepy movie that is both well told and well made. So once again side stepping the typical review format lets pile some Blu-ray goodness on our plate and dig in.
You are treated to a 1080p HD with 1.33:1 ratio but only mono on the audio. But making up for the audio are a new full frame HD transfer that keeps the original 16mm ratio. Special features include a new video intro from Frank Henenlotter, commentary from Frank Henenlotter, Edgar Ievins and Beverly Bonner. Add to that rare outtakes and behind the scenes footage from Franks private collection, rare radio spots, theatrical and TV spots as well as a short In Search of Hotel Broslin.
Not only do you get a fun movie, restored with original ratios, it seems to me to have a lot to offer in viewing enjoyment. Get yours today, or else...
