Brotherhood of Blood (2008)
Review by David Rupp

Two horror legends re-unite again. After the success of Rob Zombie’s “The Devil Rejects”, legendary actor Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses, Kill Bill 2) and horror icon Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead) team up again in Brotherhood of Blood, a claustrophobic thriller about a team of vampire hunters who must infiltrate a nest of the undead to save one of their own.

Directed by: Michael Roesch & Peter Sheerer Cast: Sid Haig, Ken Foree, Jason Connery, Victoria Pratt

I'm not the worlds biggest vampire fan, but this movie had it's merits. Let's just get the obvious out of the way and aknowledge the presence of two genre veterans. They do not disappoint, but I, as you sure will, are wondering what the hell are up with those fangs? I believe they were going for the older vamp and well calciated and worn chompers, but they unfortunatly, came out looking like a mouth full of marshmallows.

The acting in this one was pretty strong, even the angsty female hunter, who my wife disliked immensely. The vamps themselves, teeth aside, had a perfect mix of tired agelessness and apathy, combined with a few drops of dutiful contempt. The gore is not disappointing in this film, as there are many skin crawling scenes involving vampire torture. The scenes were shot well, and the locations fit the story.

I give this one a nod of approval and a reccomendation for a purchase, if nothing more than a rental. Get your hands on this and check it out. 8/10
