Cabin Fever 2 (2009)

Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Ti West
Starring:
Noah Segan/John
Rusty Kelley/Alex
Alexi Wasser/Cassie
Giuseppe Andrews/Winston
Plot:
Days after a killer virus consumed his friends, Paul emerges from a ditch by a river. Though his body has been ravaged by the virus, he is determined to survive and to warn others of the danger. However, a water bottling plant has already distributed contaminated water to the local high school. The school’s students are excitedly preparing for the prom, unaware they’re about to have a grisly date with death.
Acting:
The acting was ok here Giuseppe Andrews(Winston) was awesome his character in this movie saved it big time from just completely failing, he is very funny and hope if they do another Cabin Fever movie he is in it. The lead Noah Segan(John) was pretty good as the lead he was easy to relate with and actually cared for him. We also get a awesome cameo from Mark Borchardt.
Gore:
Holy shit this flick was nasty, there is tons of red, nasty, puss filled stuff here. We get a guy hit by a bus, gunshots, lots of people throwing up blood, a cut off arm, a nail gun to the head and just lots of other gross after the fact stuff that had me cringing.
T & A:
We get 4 pairs here and one pair at the end you might not want to see.
Directing:
Ti gives us a pretty slick movie that has a opening and ending that was done in a animated style like something out of the movie Heavy Metal, just seemed odd to me. The main movie itself was cool it had a real 70’s feel to it with the Disco prom and just little things like the phones, and NO CELL PHONES! That is nice not to see.
Soundtrack:
We get a very heavy disco themed soundtrack with a little rock here and there.
Final thoughts:
Cabin Fever 2 was a ok follow up to the first film, it’s set right after the first movie. There was something about it that felt really rushed towards the end of the movie though. All in all it was a good follow up that is really nasty, tops the first Cabin Fever and getting to see Dept. Winston again is always a great thing. If you enjoyed the first Cabin Fever I would say give this one a watch, I give it a 6/10.
