City Of The Living Dead
Review by Jeff

Directed by: Lucio Fulci

Starring:
Christopher George/Peter
Catriona MacColl/Mary
Carlo De Mejo/Jerry
Fabrizio Jovine/Father Thomas

Plot:
In the small New England town of Dunwich, a priest commits suicide by hanging himself in the church cemetery which somehow opens the gates of hell allowing the dead to rise. Peter, a New York City reporter, teams up with a young psychic, named Mary, to travel to the town where they team up with another couple, psychiatrist Jerry and patient Sandra, to find a way to close the gates before All Saints Day or the dead all over the world will rise up and kill the living.

Acting:
Fulci's movies aren't made for great acting but I think the cast did a alright job with what they had to go with.

Gore:
We get a boatload of juice here, a guy hangs himself, lots of nasty worms, bleeding from the eyes, a girl pukes up her gets, this is a must see, lots of brains ripped out, drill to the head, metal spike to the stomach, wooden cross to the stomach, and some zombies on fire.

T & A:
There is nothing here, yep i said it nothing and this a Italian gore flick.

Directing:
Fulci did a great job here, the town of Dunwich looked awesome and gave you a real creepy feeling, and the gore shots are outstanding, he don’t like to cut away from the good stuff.

Soundtrack:
The score in this movie was badass, Fabio Frizzi did a sweet ass job with the score here, it makes this film even more bizarre and adds a lot of atmosphere to the film.

Final thoughts:
City Of The Living Dead was a great film all around, if you liked The Beyond you will dig this flick a lot. This is a must watch just for the score, and the 2 scenes of the girl puking up her guts, and the drill to the head. If you are a Fulci fan or just want to get into Italian horror films this is a good one to start with. I give it a 7/10.
