D4 (2010)

Review by David Rupp

D4 follows a team of special ops mercenaries on a mission to rescue a kidnapped kid believed to be held in an abandoned government facility. Hired by the boy's mother, a wealthy doctor with high reaching influence, all seems to be an easy job. But as things unfold, what was meant to be a simple search and rescue turns into a fight for survival.

Written and directed by Darrin Dickerson
Starring: Eric Berner, Clay Brocker, Erin Elizabeth Burns, Darrin Dickerson,Jeff Hime, Ted LeGarde & Jaimee Gray Simon.

I'm going to come right out and say it from the get go: I like this movie. Well scripted with a really good story-line, you meet the players, like them, hate them, pity them almost instantly. You can see the twist coming but the ride well makes up for it. Sound and lighting were bang on, well mixed and beautifully sleek.

I like the way the digital effects were used to enhance rather than make the scenes, a good deal of practical effects and manpower make this great. For an indipendent first time film Darrin sucker-punches you with win, this is going places folks, a must see for fans of action and movies in the vein of predators. Look for it on Netflix and click the SAVE option, it deserves it. 9/10
