Dead Air (2009)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Chuck Skibo

Starring:
Sara
Jack
Walt
Michelle

Plot:
The city of Johnstown, PA has been overrun by the walking dead. After a car accident, a reporter, a cameraman, a city councilman and his wife have taken shelter in a basement, can they put aside their personal issues long enough to survive?

Acting:
For the 7 minutes of this flick the acting was horrible you could tell none of these people were actors but I cant really judge because this was a short film and you have to get who you can with your budget,

Gore:
We get some real good zombie flesh eating stuff here, we get some flesh eaten, guts ripped out and munched on, some baseball bat action and gunshots.

T & A:
We don’t any of that stuff here.

Directing:
Chuck did a ok job with the 7 minuets he had the effects were pretty solid and the setting was ok, standard stuff for a low budget flick.

Soundtrack:
First off the audio was pretty bad, you could hear a change during the dialogue scenes, but at the same time the score was very good pretty suspenseful.

Final thoughts:
Dead Air is a 7 minute short film that I feel has way to much to offer and needs a lot more time. Some people can get away with 10 minutes, but I Feel this needs at least 30 minutes or so. With that being said the flick felt way to rush and stuff happened to fast, you don’t get know any of the characters and Chuck seemed to have a idea for who they where. I hope some day he gets to make this into a feature length film cause I think he has something going for himself. I give it a 5/10.
