Deadlands: The Rising (2008)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Gary Ugarek

Starring:
Dave Cooperman/Dave
Gary Ugarek/Gary
Michelle Wright/Michelle

Plot:
October 2008. A biochemical weapon explosion causes a freak chain of events and brings the dead back to life. It is up to five people to make a stand for survival against an ever growing army of the Living Dead.

Acting:
The acting in this movie was ok, All the people were believable which was cool, so you could really relate with them a lot.

Gore:
The gore was really good and looked great. We get some gut munching, a ripped out throat, lots of biting, gunshots, and people getting ripped apart.

T & A:
Nothing here, this film didn’t need it.

Directing:
The film looked real nice for a independent film, it had some nice shots and made you feel like it could be where you live, very very well done.

Soundtrack:
The score was great and set the mood of the film real well, to me that was one of the real bright spots of the movie.

Final thoughts:
This was a pretty cool zombie flick, I don’t have anything bad to say about it, I only wish that it was longer or that he will make another to follow up on what is going to happen next, cause the film really leaves you hanging at the end. If you like zombie films this one is for you and its very well done unlike a lot of other strait to video zombie movies. I give it a 6/10.
