Deadly Manor (1990)

Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by:Jose Ramon Larraz

Starring:
Clark Tufts/Jack
Greg Rhodes/Toney
Jerry Kernion/Peter
Kathleen Patane/Anne

Plot:
A group of teenagers take refuge in an old, deserted mansion. Soon the members of the group start turning up dead, and the teenagers realize that they're not alone in the mansion.

Acting:
The acting was pretty solid here, we get a good group of kids that seem realistic. Clark Tufts(Jack) was good as the mysterious hitch-hiker. Jerry Kernion(Peter) added the humor to the flick as the pot head smartass. Kathleen Patane(Anne) was are lead lady and did a nice job, she was likeable and most down to earth of the group.

Gore:
There wasn’t a lot of gore here but what we do get is nice. We get some stabbing, a slit throat, gunshots and some off screen stuff.

T & A:
We get 2 pairs here.

Directing:
Jose did a nice job with the location of the manor, we get some real nice creepy shots and left you wondering what was going to happen. He also gives us a nice pay off at the end.

Soundtrack:
I really liked the score, it was pretty suspenseful and fit the movie great.

Final thoughts:
Deadly Manor is a flick I would like to see get a good DVD release. The copy I have is pretty bad, during the night scenes its pretty hard to see stuff and you see a lot of water marks. We get a good cast of charters that helped a lot, if it wasn’t for the cast this could have been a bad movie. I would have liked to see some more gore but it didn’t effect the film that much because of everything else that worked great. I would say if you can find this movie give it a watch. I give it a 6/10.
