Dear MR. Gacy (2010)

Review by David Rupp

A chronicle of the interaction between college student Jason Moss and the object of his obsession, serial killer John Wayne Gacy.
directed by Svetozar Ristovski and written by Jason Moss with screen adaptation by Kellie Madison.
Staring William Forsythe and Richard Harmon.
This was an adaptation of a book I read many years ago, wich was aptly titled The Last Victim. It follows a criminalogy student Jason who decides to do his thesis on famed serial killer John Wayne Gacy. I feel it followed the unfolding story penned by Moss quite faithfully, matched with great acting, nice production values and a well selected cast.
This is not in your face horror I know, but it is that creepy shadow lurking just outside of your vision. Creepy is just the perfect word to use for this absoloutly psychotic rollercoaster. Forsythe as Gacy pegs the duality and volidity in an unnerving way and Harmon falls into the roll of Moss almost naturally. Each filling their rolls in what turns out to be a perverse student/teacher pshychiactric nightmare.
If you have or have not read the book, this is a must see for fans of corner of the eye errie atmospheric films. Remember the based on true events label some films get? This has few embelishments, wich only add to the spine shivers. I loved it and want people to see this, if for anything to never forget the fragility of the human psyche. 10/10
