Death Laid An Egg (1968)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Giulio Questi
Starring:
Jean-Louis Trintgnant/Marco
Gina Lollobrigida/Anna
Ewa Aulin/Gabrielle
Plot:
A love triangle develops between three people who run a high tech chicken farm. It involves Anna (who owns the farm), her husband Marco (who kills prostitutes in his spare time) and Gabriella (the very beautiful secretary). Marco continues to kill as jealousy becomes more prevalent on the farm.
Acting:
The acting in this film was ok for what it was, Jean-Louis(Marco) was good in the lead could be believable as a killer, Gina Lollobrigida(Anna) was pretty low key at times and said some really messed up things during the movie that didn’t make a lot of sense, Ewa Aulin(Gabrielle) was there for eye candy and not a lot more.
Gore:
The gore was fairly lame and not to mention most of everything was off screen, pretty disappointing, what we do get is a lot of off screen stuff and a slit throat.
T & A:
None of that stuff here, just a lot of chicken breasts….. Yea I know bad joke.
Directing:
Giulio didn’t do a bad job he just could of added a lot more suspense to his shots most of the stuff was just there and that gets real boring.
Soundtrack:
The score in this flick was mega tripped out to the point that it was annoying, it sounded like some 2 year olds banging on a drum and playing with a keyboard.
Final thoughts:
Death Laid A Egg was a pretty disappointing film to say the least for it being a Giallo flick it was really boring and did not deliver when it came to the ending of the movie. The acting was fair, the score very bad, and the cover is false with a naked lady on it, I think a better title for this would have been Death Laid a Turd. I give it a 2/10.
