Fascination (1979)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Jean Rollin

Starring:
Jean-Marie Lemaire/Mark
Brigitte Lahaie/Eva
Franca Mai/Elisabeth
Fanny Magier/Helene

Plot:
This erotic horror film, set in 1916, tells the story of a thief who seeks refuge in a castle owned by two women, Eva and Elizabeth. The women are seductive and teasing, but turn out to be part of a vampiric cult of blood-drinking aristocrats.

Acting:
The acting in this movie was ok, Jean-Marie Lemaire(Mark) was kind of a sissy as the lead guy and for a robber he didn’t do shit to intimidate anyone, Brigitte Lahaie(Eva) and Franca Mai(Elisabeth) are just there for eye candy most of the time.

Gore:
The gore was pretty tame, we get some gunshots, a guy stabbed, slit throats, some scythe action, and some biting.

T & A:
We get tons of that stuff here, there are 7 pairs of boobs, and 5 bush shots.

Directing:
Jean made this flick, very gothic and stylish, there were some great scenery and the setting for the film was cool.

Soundtrack:
We get a real eerie chilling score that adds a lot to the film.

Final thoughts:
I was very impressed with Fascination, I was thinking it would be another vampire flick based only on nudity and yes there is tons of that here but it has a real cool and original story that kept me into it wanting to know what was going to happen next. We get a real cool look to the film, and a great story, so I would say give this one a shot. I give it a 7/10.
