Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965)

Review by Mari Lynne Rupp

Three Go-Go Dancers find themselves in the desert, terrorize a couple, kidnapping the girl and
killing the boy. On the run, they find themselves on an isolated farm, and attempt to
seduce the farmer's sons in pursuit of a hidden stash, but the farmer has his own agenda...
Thus begins the movie that pretty much set off the grindhouse movement. Low-budget, high-thrills
and gratuitous violence and sex. Directed and written by the late great Russ Meyer and starring
the late great Tura Satana, this film was a fantastic springboard for car films such as "Vanishing
Point" and "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" with some possible nods from "Big Bird Cage" and "Black
Mama White Mama" later on down the cinema road. It also spoke to feminism as it was made
in the age of "Nice-girls-didn't", showing women could be as sadistic, fun-loving and hard
hearted as any man. Not much more needs to be said...Over-acting damsels, beefcake bad guys and
tuff chicks with big tits. An absolute must-see if you're rediscovering grindhouse like me.
