Fear of Clowns (2004)

Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Kevin Kangas
Starring:
Jacky Reres/Lynn
Mark Lassise/Shivers the clown
Rick Ganz/Tuck Reed
Plot:
An artist with coulrophobia ("fear of clowns") is stalked by a murderous clown resembling one of the ones she paints.
Acting:
The acting is extremely bad here, almost like the actors didn’t want to be in this movie, and I don’t blame them what so ever. Mark Lassise(shivers) was just stupid looking, he reminded me of some cheap ass clown you would see wrestling at some indy federation. Other than that the rest of cast is disposable.
Gore:
We get a lot of off screen kills, a head cut off, gunshots, a axe to the head, and some stabbing, Not a lot of gore but it was ok.
T & A:
We get one pair of cha cha’s and a bush shot, the ladies get a shirtless clown, so I guess we all win....right?
Directing:
I didn’t care for what Kevin gave us in this film, the movie dragged and dragged, it took 40 minutes before any killing started to happen., and just gave us the look of what most shot for dvd flicks look like.
Soundtrack:
The score was pretty good, but when we get a good sounding score that’s sets up for a horrific scene…and I mean that in a good way, it just fails on all levels.
Final thoughts:
I heard from the start that Fear of Clowns was horrible and by the title and strait to dvd I didn’t think I would get much. With that being said I got what I rented, bad acting and a bad plot with a low budget doesn’t really lead to much. I would say skip this flick and watch like Killer Klowns from Outer Space. I give it a 1/10.
