Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Tom Holland
Starring:
William Ragsdale/Charley
Amanda Bearse/Amy
Chris Sarandon/Jerry
Roddy McDowall/Peter Vincent
Plot:
Charlie Brewster believes that his next door neighbor Jerry Dandridge is a vampire. His belief is strengthened when mysterious deaths of girls are reported. When Dandridge confronts Charlie in his own bedroom one night and tries to kill him, Charlie concludes that the monster must be destroyed. But since nobody believes his story he enlists the help of Peter Vincent, the vampire killer from his favorite horror TV show, who is in fact skeptical about vampires existing for real.
Acting:
The acting in this flick was awesome, Roddy McDowall(Peter Vincent) added some great humor to the movie and was just spot on the entire film, William Ragsdale(Charley) was good in the lead role and made his character very believable, Chris Sarandon(Jerry0 was one smooth ass lead vampire, Amanda Bearse(Amy) was ok but they could of got someone better, and we cant forget about Stephen Geoffreys(Evil Ed) this dude was crazy and funny as hell.
Gore:
There wasn’t a ton of bloodshed but what they used was great, we get a pencil to the hand, a cut neck, some biting, steaks to the heart, gunshots, and a vampire burned up.
T & A:
We get one brief shot of some boobs.
Directing:
Tom did a real nice job with the lighting and the blue throughout the flick was real nice, he also sets the atmosphere real well, it gives the movie a cool creepy feeling.
Soundtrack:
We get a great score and some 80’s pop music here and there.
Final thoughts:
Fright Night is a great 80’s vampire flick that is real entertaining and fun to watch, it sets all kinds of moods from funny to pretty creepy. The cast is just about perfect, the effects are great, and I would say if you are vampire movie fan this is a must see. I give it a 10/10.
