Ghoul School
Review by Jeff

Directed by: Timothy O’Rawe

Starring:
William Friedman/Steve
Scott Gordon/Jeff
Paul Venier/Blade
Nancy Sirianni/Roxy

Plot:
When two criminals accidentally release toxic chemicals into a high school water supply, everyone who comes in contact with it becomes a flesh-hungry member of the walking dead. A pair of bookish nerds and a talent-challenged heavy metal band suddenly find themselves to be the only hope for the survival of the student body.

Acting:
The acting in this film is real bad at times, but to me it was bad in a good cheesy way. William Friedman(Steve) plays the horror nerd that is tougher than his buddy Jeff, Scott Gordon(Jeff) is the sidekick to his buddy Steve and is always worrying about stuff throughout the film, Paul Vinier(Blade) is leader of the metal group in the film and is a horrible actor. Also look for cameos by Jackie Martling and Joe Franklin.

Gore:
We get lots of good stuff here, we get gunshots, body parts ripped off, axe to the chest, flesh eating, axe to the groin, cut throat, guts ripped out, a nail to the eye, tire iron to the head, a hammer to the head, and a drumstick through the mouth, yea there is tons of good stuff here.

T & A:
Not a thing here, just some shirtless ghouls from the swim team.

Directing:
Timothy did a great job for the amount of money he had, the gore effects were real nice and he had some pretty cool camera shots throughout the film.

Soundtrack:
We get some rock/metal music, and pretty cool score.

Final thoughts:
Ghoul School probably isn’t for everyone, but if you enjoy low budget films, or enjoy movies like Return Of The Living Dead you might just dig this flick. It has great gore scenes and the acting is so bad it’s great, also look out for the band rehearsal scene the drummer doesn’t even have symbols, the singer is playing guitar with no pick, and everything is so off it’s great. I give this film a 7/10.
