Hell on Earth: Hellraiser 3 (1992)
Review by Bindi Lavelle

Pinhead has become one of horror’s best known villains, not to mention easily identifiable; I mean the guy has a head covered in pins. The third installment of the Hellraiser fancies develops Pinhead as a character showing his back-story and of course, there is the usual Hellraiser gore along the way.

Aside from Pinhead’s origin sub-plot, this installment doesn’t cover any new ground. Hell on Earth is clearly more pop-culture than dark fantasy which leads to some memorable blood shedding silliness; Most notably a night club massacre involving fatal flying CDs.

Like most sequels, Hell on Earth runs through the motions set by the previous films, while this is not necessarily a bad thing the world of Hellraiser allows for a more creative approach then a simple rehash with elaborate death sequences.

Hell on Earth is not a bad film per say if you want to tune out for a couple of hours and see loads of blood on screen, if you are hopping for anything more than that you in for a disappointment.
