Hurt
Review by David Rupp
Hurt (2006) Rleased by Salvation Films is one of those movies you watch and come away with a feeling of mixed shock and the need to see more. Although in the age of "Reality Horror" with such movies as Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, The Last Horror Movie and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, it has a unique spin on the whole sreial killing for fame and prosperity angle.
Directed by Scott A. Martin and starring Nate Cyrier, Tamara Taylor Baber, Ron Burgher, Lacey Berry, Lee Christian and Jeanie Cheek. The direction was great but the end product seemed a little polished for my taste. One would expect a gritty, grainy sequence spliced with some slightly beeter quality cut scenes, but it overall works. Acting was surprisingly good and convincing, victims acually had some haunting qualities you would see in life. My hat is off to the cast. What I liked about this movie is the fact that there was brutality, but it left a lot to the imagination instead of being in your face gore from the start. I feel people have forgotten how to fill in the blanks and draw conclusions.
Over all I have to reccomend that anyone into the reality horror aspect see this, as well as any fan of stalker slasher films. I enjoyed it and will be watching it again soon. Well done. .
