Jack Frost (1996)
Review by Jeff

Directed by: Michael Cooney

Starring:
Scott MacDonald/Jack Frost
Christopher Allport/Sam
Zack Eginton/Ryan
Stephen Mendel/Agent Manners

Plot:
The movie takes place in the fictional town of Snowmonton, where (on the week before Christmas) the truck carrying serial killer Jack Frost to his execution is involved in a freak accident with a truck carrying genetic material. Although Jack Frost escapes, the genetic material causes his body to fuse with the snow on the ground, mutating Jack into a killer snowman. With his body now as icy as his heart, Jack Frost seeks revenge on the citizens of Snowmonton and on the man who finally caught him, Sheriff Sam Tiler.

Acting:
The acting in this film is real cheesy like a made for TV movie, but I think that’s what makes it funny and good. Scott MacDonald(Jack Frost) was great as the killer snowman and had some funny one liners, Christopher Allport(Sam) played a good local cop and was very believable in his role, Stephen Mendel(Agent Manners) was alright as the serious cop and was real cheesy in his role, also keep a look out for a cameo by Shannon Elizabeth in her first ever movie.

Gore:
There is not a ton of gore but we do get a head cut off by a sled, a axe down a guys throat, Christmas tree bulbs to the face, guy ran over by a car, ice cycle to the head, a snowman raping and killing a girl, and some gunshots.

T & A:
Not a thing here.

Directing:
Michael made this a real fun holiday horror film he had some nice shots, and the lighting was real good at times, some might not like the look of the movie but I think it fits well.

Soundtrack:
We get some Christmas ditties, and a good score to go with it.

Final thoughts:
Jack Frost is one of those films I love to watch every Christmas, it’s funny and just a great silly horror/comedy movie to enjoy. I would say check this flick out if you like silly horror movies, I would say anyone could enjoy this. I give it a 9/10.
