Jason X (2001)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: James Isaac
Starring:
Lexa Doig/Rowan
Lisa Ryder/Kay-Em
Chuck Campbell/Tsunaron
Peter Mensah/Sgt. Brodski
Plot:
Set way in the future, Earth is no longer inhabitable, so humans have colonized in outer space. One colony receives two cryogenically frozen bodies, and when they defrost them, one of the bodies turns out to be who else? Jason Voorhees. No longer in the forest or Camp Crystal Lake, Jason stalks the colonists in a whole new environment.
Acting:
The acting is pretty good and has a lot over the top humor to it, Lexa Doig(Rowan) is ok in the lead role, but doesn’t really do or say a lot, Chuck Campbell(Tsunaron) is funny and likeable, how can you not like a dude that calls Jason slappy?, and Peter Mensah(Sgt. Brodski) plays the badass army dude that doesn’t take shit from anyone.
Gore:
We get a lot of cool new death scenes here, we get some off screen stuff, Gunshots, a pole through the back, lots of machete action, a arm cut off, a face froze and smashed, a back broke, more face smashing, a neck snapped, a guy impaled on a giant screw, and a dude electrocuted.
T & A:
We get one pair of android boobs, and two pairs of real ones.
Directing:
James made this flick real fun and goofy, he also gave us some real sweet death scenes.
Soundtrack:
The score was pretty tame for the most part, but we do get a bit of the older Friday score.
Final thoughts:
A lot of people give this movie a lot of shit for being very bad, but I thought it was a lot better than Jason Goes To Hell and was real fun to watch, you just cant take it seriously like the earlier flicks. I thought the cast was great, the death scenes were good, but at the same time I would like to see it go back now to the older days of him killing people at Crystal lake. I would say if you like sci-fi flicks or even the series in general give it a watch. I give it a 8/10.
