Jekyll- Season One (2008)
Review by Bindi Lavelle

Jekyll- Season One This short and sharp modern take on Robert Luis Stephenson’s Victorian tale extends beyond the traditional Jekyll and Hyde story, producing a unique and gripping story.

James Nesbitt, plays Dr. Tom Jackman, a happily married awkward scientist and his violent inner child, Billy Hyde. Jackman goes to great lengths to restrain and control his alter-ego, (constructing restring devices and hiring a psychiatric nurse) but is however pursued by a mysterious organization with a vested interest in Hyde.

Award winning writer, Steven Moffat (Dr. Who, Coupling) weaves a plot full of suspense and intrigue as both Jekyll and Hyde unravel the mystery surrounding them.

With everyone involved in the making of this series performing at a high level, each of the six episodes are truly captivating. Engaging and intriguing, Jekyll is well worth the effort for fans of psychological thrillers. 7/10
