Killer Shorts (2009)
Review by Jake LeMaster

First off I would like to introduce this review by saying It's hard to review a short and very hard to review your friends. As usual with all Indi Films Audio always tends to be a little annoying but its something we get past.. all and all the video quality is good.. the transitions between the films is good Thanks to Elormie and Count Balazar. But that's enough lets get more specific. Lets go ahead and try on these shorts and see how they fit.
Puncture:
Vampires are real or are they? I Love the last line of synopsis.. Dale and Gwen are relaxing at home when Gwens sister Nikki calls and invites them to a party.. This is where things start going downhill.. When our "heroes" Show up to said party it's completely dead pun intended.. There are bodies on the floor with puncture wounds to the neck.. Our Horror film fanatic Dale jumps strait to Vampires. Either hes been up to long, hes been watching to much TV.. or hes just crazy enough to be right.. this was a fun little film to watch and our friend Misty(Nikki) definitely is an eye catching goth schoolgirl. If you like campy B movies like I do then you will enjoy this short film.
The Last Rendezvous:
I actually caught this short at the W.I.F.E festival and liked it. We have two couples, a crazy crossed love connection and a murderer on the loose.. I really cant say much more than that without giving away the movie.. But here is a quick rundown.. Samantha loves Ruben, Wendell loves Angela, Angela and Ruben are lovers.. and love makes you do stupid things like go to an old rickety house that should not have been a prime location for any kind of
"Mischief Making" if you know what i mean. From here our scandalous lovers get into a mess of trouble when Wendell shows up angry and looking for revenge, And a Masked murderer shows up shortly after looking to cause some Mayhem. I honestly think this film could have ran twice as long and still been enjoyable.. But my heart tells me that there weren't enough characters to do that and by what happens in this story we can see what listening to your heart well maybe not completely your heart leads to.. It gets you killed..
Navstar:
Navstar.. Um what can I say.. The potential is there you can see it when the story is being explained by our friend Balazar who dons everyday clothing and poses as Cooper in this story to be something like a Demon Conspiracy nut sitting in front of a store of some sort to tell the back story better than anybody could.. Apparently he has seen everything because a bloody half dead man being drug out of a car and sat down right beside him doesn't even get a reaction... Most of the reactions to the demon and the attacks are lackluster in this short film. Sadly the very low budget makes our trash-bag demon more of an annoyance who happens to kill people than a very scary foe at all...
