Korn - Remember Who You Are (2010)
Review by Jason Norwood

Rating: **
Standout track: Fear Is A Place To Live
"Remember Who You Are" is Korn's 9th album--and it's hard to say much more about it. I took this album "for
a walk" (my terminology for listening around town on my walkman) and listened to it several times. And the
verdict is: it's immaculately produced, there's lots of amazing riffs and lyrics, and....it sounds exactly
like every popular Korn song released since "Life Is Peachy" came out in 1996. There is very little change
in the sound or content throughout the entire album, with the sole exception of "Fear Is A Place To Live",
which puts the vocals a little more up front and adds a little ambience. Korn continues to sell records by
the millions, and good on them for maintaining their success. This album will still appeal to the millions
of Korn fans worldwide. When a band's albums become this formulaic, though, one starts to yearn for
something creative, more brilliant, and more diverse. So it comes down to this: it's a good album, but one
that doesn't take Korn to anywhere but where they've already been.
