Laid to Rest (2009)
Review by David Rupp

A terrifying story of a young girl who wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. She quickly realizes she was abducted by a Deranged Serial Murderer and in an isolated rural town she must survive the night and outsmart the technologically inclined killer who is hellbent on finishing what he started.

Written & directed by Robert Hall and starring: Bobbi Sue Luther, Lena Headey, Kevin Gage, Sean Whalen, Thomas Dekker, Richard Lynch & Nick Principe.

I just want to state for the record, I loved this movie. Finally a new villian you can't help but get behind, Not since Hatchet have I felt such affinity towards a new movie killer. Not just that, he is (mostly) smart and tech savvy, meticulous along with my favorite point, you aren't spoon fed his life story. Chromeskull is an utter and complete mystery, as it should be.

The kills are fantastic, harsh and in your face. Great effects, proper lighting mixed with some very top notch acting, especially Kevin Guage. I am not optimistic to the idea of a sequel but it would be as welcome as a Hatchet 2. Fast paced and always two steps from a fresh corpse, this movie will keep you interested from the bizarre get go. A positively fantastic movie to say the least, I highly reccomend you check it out. 10/10
