Lunch Meat (1987)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Kirk Alex

Starring:
Joe Ricciardella/Frank
Kim McKamy/Roxy
Elroy Wiese/Paw
Chuck Ellis/Benny

Plot:
A group of yuppie teenagers gets lost in a wooded area near Los Angeles. They run into a family of deranged hillbillies that earns its living by supplying meat to a local hamburger stand, human meat and starts to kill off the stranded teens one by one.

Acting:
The acting in this movie was pretty bad, Elroy Wiese(Paw) was ok at times and looked and played the role of a inbred redneck very well, all the teens in this movie were real annoying and all seemed the same, so it was hard to really tell a lot of them apart.

Gore:
This was were I was very let down, with this being a shot on video low budget movie called lunch meat I wanted to see tons of blood and guts, but that wasn’t the case at all, what we do get is a lot of off screen stuff, a throat ripped out, flesh eating, a head cut off, some machete action, a pick axe to the foot, a knife to the stomach, and a knife to the chest.

T & A:
Not a thing here.

Directing:
Kirk didn’t show us a lot, the flick looks shot on video like it should and all we get is a couple cool zoom inns’ but that’s about it.

Soundtrack:
The score was pretty cool, sounded a lot like stuff from Ghoul School.

Final thoughts:
Lunch Meat let me down, I was looking forward to a blood bath and some redneck killing teens and making some food out of them. This was more just a strait up slasher of rednecks killing teens, and I don’t really see why call it Lunch Meat other than the fact that they are cannibals. I would say give this one a rent if you can ever find it. I give it a 4/10.
