Standout track: The Whore's Lullaby
For those about to dance, we salute you. Manufactura has long been known for their brutal, dense powernoize sound, which makes this album almost a surprise. "As They Drown In Their Lies", their latest effort, makes a paradigm shift from the heavy distorted rhythms of powernoize to danceable, melodic EBM without completely leaving their classic sound behind, and that's what makes this album so endearing--when the lyrics come out to the front, they have depth, and when the melodies step out from behind the blanket of noisy rhythm, they are full of energy. There's not a weak track in the lot, even when Manufactura collaborates with compadres ESA and Lexincrypt. Anyone who likes powernoize probably already owns a copy of this, but for all of the fans of the more danceable industrial, this is an album to pay attention to, and may just serve as a gateway into other industrial worlds.
