Meatball Machine (2005)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Yudai Yamaguchi & Junichi Yamamoto

Starring:
Issei Takahashi/Yoji
Aoba Kawai/Sachiko

Plot:
Capable of making biomechanical weapons out of human flesh, alien parasites grotesquely invade the Earth, turning their hosts into maniacal killers who seek and destroy each other to the bloody death! And yes, it s also a human love story, even though the budding romantics are infested with slimy, tumor-like globules.

Acting:
Issei Takahashi(Yogi) was ok as the quiet guy but doesn’t really do anything special, Aoba Kawai(Sachiko) was kind of the same she was just there and I felt that anyone could play there roles just the same and It’s to bad these were the only characters in the film most of the time.

Gore:
This was the main strong point of the film we get lots and lots of blood spraying everywhere, we get some off screen stuff, a head cut in half, a kid hit by a car, stabbing, a gunshot, and lots of monster battling stuff.

T & A:
None of that stuff here.

Directing:
Yudai and Yamaguchi did a good job making this look like a Gwar music video and gave us some killer bloodshed.

Soundtrack:
The score was ok but not to noticeable.

Final thoughts:
Meatball Machine was a very bizarre flick to say the least it’s a like a mix between a Anime movie brought to life and a Gwar video. With that being said the plot lacked big time and there just wasn’t enough to make me care about what was going on. If you enjoy Japanese gore flicks you might want to check this out. I give it a 2/10.
