Otis (2008)
Review by David Rupp

I saw this and I just absolutely loved it. Otis (Bostin Christopher), a socially inept pizza delivery guy, is still stuck in in high school, in his head at least. Kidnapping young beautiful girls to hold in his subterranean world, he tries to recreate the big prom he probably never had. Things go wrong when he grabs Riley Lawson (Ashley Johnson), who learns to play his games, then escapes. Along with a bumbling almost insane FBI investigation, a family bent on revenge and a brother in the wrong place at the wrong time, this is the ultimate poke in the eye to the torture-porn sub-genre. No cliches are safe, and the carnage has just got to be experienced.
Also starring: Daniel Stern, Illeana Douglas, Jared Kusnitz, Kevin Pollak and Jere Burns. Directed by Tony Krantz, written by Erik Jendresen and Thomas Schnauz.
There is just something in this movie that will both fulfill your need for a good story and yet poke fun at most of the "edgy" films of the last several years. All the technical elements are present and well done, lighting, sound, effects. Acting is great, a top notch and believable performance. If you liked The cottage, Botched and Freak Out, you'll love this. I highly recommend it, and will gladly take the heat if you don't.
