Paranormal Activity (2009)
Review by Jeff hudson

Directed by: Oren Peli
Starring:
Katie Featherston/Katie
Micah Sloat/Micah
Plot:
After a young, middle class couple moves into a suburban 'starter' tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
Acting:
The acting in this film is pretty realistic in the sense that the couple seems like a real couple Micah Sloat(Micah) was pretty funny at times his role is to the smart ass boyfriend that wants to have fun with everything going on in the house, Katie Featherston(Katie) does a alright job sometimes doesn’t seem that believable at times but not enough to ruin the movie.
Gore:
This movie is not about gore at all it’s about freaking you out from the stuff you don’t see and does a damn good job at it. We do get a little blood but it’s not much at all and it’s all off screen stuff that leads to it.
T & A:
Not a thing.
Directing:
Oren does a nice job with the handheld camera look there wasn’t one time I didn’t feel like the shots were spot on. His choice of the house was great it really felt creepy as shit at night.
Soundtrack:
This was meant to be real so we don’t get a score at all and other than Micah messing around with his guitar we don’t really get any music at all.
Final thoughts:
I went to the theater to see the midnight showing because of how much great stuff I heard about it, not to mention im a sucker for a good ghost/haunting movie. After leaving I felt a little disappointed by it but later on the next day it sunk in and I loved it. I was just more annoyed by all the 14 year olds screaming and acting like idiots. This film gave me chills at times and freaked me the hell out I cant go into detail about what parts because I would say you need to see it for yourself. There is also a screener floating out there that has some different footage and a different ending. I have seen both and the one in theaters has a more jump scare ending and the screener has a more realistic ending. I would say this is a must see movie. I give it a 8/10.
