Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)

Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Tod Williams

Starring:
Brian Boland/Dan
Sprague Grayden/Kristi
Molly Ephraim/Ali
Katie Featherston/Katie

Plot:
After experiencing what they think are a series of "break-ins", a family sets up security cameras around their home, only to realize that the events unfolding before them are more sinister than they seem.

Acting:
The acting was really good, I felt that adding a whole family was a bit better this time and they were more likeable compared to the first. Molly Ephraim(Ali) was great as the daughter and to me she was the stand out of the movie. Brian Boland(Dan) was cool as the dad, he added some good comedy relief to the flick and was easy to like. Sprague Grayden(Kristi) was also very good, not to beat a dead horse but the whole cast worked great.

Gore:
There wasn’t to much gore here, we do get some blood and some kills that I wont spoil due to you have to see this flick and to say what happens would ruin it.

T & A:
None of that stuff here, a couple shirtless dudes and some mega cleavage but that’s it.

Directing:
Mr. Williams did a amazing job he set some real tension that got me a couple times in the theater. The simple effects were great, there was a kitchen scene that about made me jump out of my seat. Very well done Tod.

Soundtrack:
Since this is shot as real events there is score or soundtrack. That is fine though because the silence is way more scary.

Final thoughts:
Paranormal Activity 2 impressed me big time, I really loved the first one and was hoping part 2 could at least be half as good. But instead it was better. The acting was great the scares were even more terrifying and it was a fun movie that I can see myself watching again and again. I would say if you’re a fan of the first this is a must see. I give it a 9/10.
