So many of the subjects feature in Bindi's Bloodbath are hunters in one form or another; madmen hunting cheerleaders, monster hunters, monters hunting and those hunting the truth. But for some hunting is a way of life; and no creature embodies this more that the Predator.
Predator, created by screenwriter Shane Black, was introduced to movie goers in the 1987 film of the same name. Special effects artisit Stan Winston (Terminator) developed the unique look of the alien.
The Predator proved to be such a stand-out creature that the francise epanded to more films, comics, comic cross-overs, video games and novels. Not only does this collection of media give us background to the Predator race, show us their love of trophies but also showcase their intergalactic beef with Aliens.
The Predator works as a counter-point to the H.R. Giger designed Aliens; However despite the more human appearance, the Predator is no less fearsome. The Predator, lives for the hunt, their technology and body are made for that purpose; there is no motive for their actions beyond the pleasure of the task.
With Robert Rodriguez producing the latest installment of this ever expanding franchise there is little doubt that this alien will continue to star thrilling in man versus beast tales.
