Rage (2011)

Review by Char Hardin

KILLER GOOD TIME MOVIE!
Written and Directed By Christopher Witherspoon
Stars: Audrey Walker, Rick Crawford and Chris Witherspoon
Dennis has been having an affair and today is the day he decides to break it off with his mistress. Ahhh, how sweet right! WRONG. Before he meets up with is mistress, he has to park his car. It's really was quite innocent, but Dennis wheeled his car into a parking spot where a beefed up Biker was in aiming for the same spot. Coincidence when Dennis later finds his car keyed? I think not and neither will the viewer.
Who is the Biker what is his problem? I don't know, but Dennis has caught his attention and Biker is not about to let him go...like a dog with a bone. I loved the cat and mouse vibe, but loved it even more, when the Biker made it personal and took it to Dennis' home. It cemented in my mind that Dennis was loser. In that he had a wonderful home, wife and good life and he had thrown it all aside to have an affair. Dennis pissed off the wrong person at the worse time...priceless. The Biker teaches Dennis a lesson in humiliation and it's mortifying when Dennis' wife has to be brought into the lesson. The ending revelation will make each and every viewer think twice when driving and engaging in the proper etiquette of parking. Sometimes a little courtesy goes a long way.
RAGE has a great storyline. My only complaint and it is nothing really to do with the movie, it has been the constant referral to DUEL. I have never seen DUEL, so it was lost on me. The reviewers all commented on the DUEL connection. I didn't want to do that, as I don't want to take away from THIS movie. RAGE is a dark look at what happens when a person snaps and the reason is nothing obscure but in this case a simple matter of courtesy overridden with haste and ignorance of anyone but self.
At first glance, I wasn't sure I would like it, but as the movie rolled along, and I started understanding more about the characters, I relaxed and got into the story. I will admit, I had to go back and see it again, to catch on about the Biker's motives, but in doing so, I liked the refresher and was able to put one and one together and came out with a great feeling of satisfaction of the story.
Would I recommend RAGE...that's a big HELL YEAH! The actors were good, dialogue and storyline entertaining and I loved the shower scene! 7.5 Out of 10.
