The Redsin Tower
Review by Jeff

Directed by: Fred Vogel

Starring:
Bethany Newell/Kim
Perry Tiberio/Mitch
Jessica Kennedy/Becky
Meghan O’Halloran/Emily

Plot:
Kim, a girl who, after giving her boyfriend of six years, Mitch, one last sympathy fuck, dumps him in the nude (that’s got to hurt), gives him back his engagement ring, and leaves. Cold, yes, but we get the impression it’s been building for a while now. Her cute, party girl Goth friend Becky insists that the best way to get over her breakup is by going out and having sex with random strangers, which I guess there’s something to be said for. So she sets out to do just that, though not without some trepidation, not understanding just how fucked up Mitch really is or how far he’ll go to get her back.

Acting:
The acting in this film was good for the most part, Bethany Newell(Kim) did a great job and was good and the girl that doesn’t want to do bad, but listens to her friends to get her in trouble, Perry Tiberio(Mitch) was spot on as the crazy ex that has got pushed to far, Jessica Kennedy(Becky) plays the goth slut that is annoying and I just wanted to see this girl get killed off rite away. The rest of the cast was good and they all felt very real like people you would probably know.

Gore:
This is were the good stuff is, we get some nice hatchet action, a cut throat, guts spilled out, biting, and lots more sick nasty stuff that you just have to see for yourself. It’s not like his August Underground films but very nice stuff.

T & A:
We get 1 pair of boobs, a bush shot, and the ladies get a dudes butt.

Directing:
Fred did a nice job with the film, it looks real nice for a independent film, the setting are nice and the lighting works real well for the film, the last 20 minutes or so of the film are creepy as hell, I liked it a lot.

Soundtrack:
We get some rock music here and there and a real sweet score that makes this film eerie as shit.

Final thoughts:
I had high hopes coming into the film and I wasn’t disappointed one bit, this is a huge step up for Fred from his August Underground film I think. This film was something fresh and creepy, he builds the characters in the up real well so you get to know them before they are killed off, and the gore effects are awesome, this film also reminded me a lot of Night of The Demons, which is one of my favorite films. Overall I give this film a 8/10.
