Right At Your Door (2006)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Chris Gorak
Starring:
Rory Cochrane/Brad
Mary McCormack/Lexi
Tony Perez/Alvero
Plot:
After multiple dirty bombs are detonated spreading deadly toxic ash across Los Angeles Brad inadvertently quarantines his wife Lexi outside their new home by safely sealing himself inside. With the city under siege and Martial Law in effect Brad and Lexi struggle to survive with little supply limited time and no information - all the while separated by thin doors and thinner sheets of plastic. When "help" finally does arrive it appears to be anything but that.
Acting:
The acting here was pretty good, Rory Cochrane(Brad) stole the show with his great emotions this dude’s crying was some of the best I have seen, Mary McCormack(Lexi) wasn’t too likeable throughout the film but by the end you could feel for her, both gave very credible roles.
Gore:
We only see one gunshot here and it was pretty nasty and realistic but nothing more than that.
T & A:
None of that stuff and this flick doesn’t need it.
Directing:
Chris started with a really cool and unique title sequence, he gave us a dirty realistic look to the movie and did a really nice job making this flick suspenseful with a twist ending that took me by surprise.
Soundtrack:
The score was very light and sorrowing that helped feed the mood of this film.
Final thoughts:
Right At Your Door took me in a different direction than what I thought I was getting into, I thought it was going to be suspenseful but in a different way, but after watching it I really dug the flick. After have a week to really digest the movie I have changed my outlook a bit, There was a lot of political references in this film and most I noticed directed to FOX News, most people that don’t follow the global news channels wont really catch it because it’s not that in your face. The acting was really good, plus it was something new and different. I would say give one a rent, but I would say watch it alone to get the full effect of it. I give it a 7/10.
