Saint Francis (2007)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Ezra Gould

Starring:
Charles Koutris/Francis
Dita Von Teese/Soul
Casey Anderson/Sid
Zalman King/Dr. Bernard

Plot:
In this dark and macabre film, Dita Von Teese plays the sister of Francis, who believes Satan is coming to earth to purge the world of sinners and take his sister's soul with him. His nightmare is made all the more real with lurid visions of his sister's naked corpse fawned over by the minions of Satan. Francis must commit a terrible deed and complete his twisted journey to find out if it was real or all a terrible mistake.

Acting:
The acting in this movie was ok, Charles Koutris(Francis) was nuts and he did a great job playing a crazed drug addict that has just shut himself out of reality, Dita Von Teese(Soul) was ok but didn’t really deliver much for being the main person on the cover of the DVD, The rest of the cast worked fine for what they had.

Gore:
Not really too much gore here but what we do get is a suicide, some surgery stuff that is pretty nasty, suffocating, and some strangling. It’s not much but the film is more on the psychological side of things.

T & A:
This is where the movie delivers in a big way we get 11 pairs of breasts, and 2 beaver shots, I guess they felt they needed to make up for the lack of plot.

Directing:
Ezra made this movie feel like a very bad dream, it looks real bizarre so if that’s what he was going for then he did a nice job.

Soundtrack:
The score was pretty good, kind of dramatic and eerie at the same time.

Final thoughts:
Saint Francis is a very odd and twisted movie that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, most of the scenes and stuff that’s going on feels real surreal and don’t know what is really happening, if it’s all a dream, or strange visions from the past and future, it just messes with your head just not in a good way like a David Lynch flick. Redemption films has released a lot better stuff I would say pass this one up and check out some of there other stuff. I give it a 2/10.
