Santa's Slay
Review by Jeff
Directed by: David Steiman
Starring:
Bill Goldberg/Santa
Douglas Smith/Nicolas Yuleson
Emilie de Ravin/Mary ‘’Mac’ Mackenzie
Robert Culp/Grandpa
Plot:
In the Christmas Eve of 2005, Santa Claus (Bill Goldberg) arrives in Hell Township killing the locals. The teenager Nicholas Yuleson (Douglas Smith) finds that his grandfather (Robert Culp) is actually an angel that defeated the devil's son in a bet, and the evil creature has spent the last one thousand years playing a good Santa Claus, giving toys to the children. Now that the bet is over, Santa Claus wants revenge. Nicholas and his girlfriend Mary Mackenzie (Emilie de Ravin) try to escape from the killer and find a way to stop him until the end of Christmas.
Acting:
The acting in this film is great, Goldberg(Santa) is badass playing a killer Santa, he has some great cheesy one liners, Douglas Smith(Nicholas) does a good job with his role as does Emilie de Ravin(Mac), Robert Culp(Grandpa) is good as the guy the town thinks is crazy. We also get some cameos from Chris Kattan and Fran Drescher.
Gore:
There’s not a whole lot of gore here but we get a dog kicked into a fan, knives through the hands, a candy cane to the eye, a guy stabbed, axe to the head, blown up heads, and some gunshots.
T & A:
Santa was feeling a little naughty here we get about 5 pairs of boobs here.
Directing:
David did a great job making this a fun cheesy horror flick, there are some good camera shots and the setting of the movie was real good.
Soundtrack:
We get lots of Christmas music.
Final thoughts:
This was a real fun movie to watch with some funny one liners throughout the film, and who couldn’t like Goldberg spearing someone in a horror film. I give this film a 8/10.
