Screaming Dead (2003)
Review by Jeff
Directed by: Bret Piper
Starring:
Misty Mundae/Bridget
Rob Monkiweicz/Sam Rogan
Joseph Farrell/Roger Neale
Rachael Robbins/Maura Holloway
Plot: An abandoned insane asylum looms dark and foreboding on the horizon. Into it pass six individuals who are about to discover its terrifying secrets and come face to face with its blackest horrors. Sleaze photographer Roger Neale and three beautiful models take up residence in the reportedly haunted old building - an ideal location for Neale's photographic "study in terror." The hospital was financed by a depraved industrialist who built a hidden vault under the basement where he tortured and murdered hundreds of patients. Neale himself is a sadist, and he takes great pleasure in exploiting the helpless young women. But when he discovers a secret passageway, it leads to a blood-splattered dungeon ... and into a supernatural world where pain and evil await mortal flesh.
Acting:
The acting in this film was good, Joseph Farrell(Roger) was great as the sleazy art guy and his facial reactions were great and made him stand out in this role, Rob Monkiweicz(Sam) played the tough guy that don’t take shit from anyone and did a nice job with it, Misty Mundae(Bridget) was good eye candy like always, I am still waiting for her to get her big break in the movie industry,.
Gore:
There is not a ton of gore here and I thought there would be, we get a head exploded, some gunshots, and some ears ripped off, not that great of the gore side.
T & A:
We get 2 pair’s here, Misty is always good about showing us her stuff.
Directing:
Bret did a nice job with the build of characters, and for a low budget flick he had some pretty good camera shots, but on bad thing was the horrible cgi stuff, I mean it’s bad, should of went with more real effects.
Soundtrack:
I didn’t notice one here, so if there was a score it must have been that great.
Final thoughts:
I thought this was a fun movie to watch, it’s low budget but I feel it doesn’t hurt the movie at all, a lot of people might not like this film because of the lack of gore or that the acting seems real cheesy at times but that’s what I like at times. If you enjoy shock-o-rama films you should check this out, I would say it’s one of there better flick I have seen by them. I give it a 8/10.
