The Seduction of Dr. Fugazzi (2009)
Review by David Rupp

Dr. Anna Fugazzi is a young, attractive psychologist with a loving and devoted (albeit freakish) boyfriend, plenty of stimulating friends, and a bright future ahead of her. But beneath her perfect life and calm exterior lies a deadly secret that she herself cannot imagine, much less confront!!! There is a delicate balance between reality and illusion, between conscious and the subconscious, and for Dr. Fugazzi, the truth lies somewhere in between the beauty of her present life and the horror of the not-too-distant past!!! Shocked by hallucinations and deadly images, tantalized by familiar, eerie voices, provoked by her deranged and knowing patients, and daily nightmares that awaken her in a strange, white room, Dr. Fugazzi takes an inhuman journey into her very psyche!!!!
Written and directed by October Kingsley and starring Faye Dunaway, October Kingsley, Jeff Van Atta, Craig Banks, Jereme Leason, Steve Larkin & Gary-7.
Right from the start you have a slight feeling of something isn't right, but can't quite put a finger on it. Slick and stylish this pushes some sanity boundaries and Ms. Kingsly and her cast and crew pull it off nicely. Every once in a while you get some hokey scripting or acting and I feel it lends to the whole experience. I found the acting overall to be quite sound and effective at what it was trying to portray.
We are also treated to both beautiful and surreal sets, great lensing and sound. If you aren't drawn into the story or at least the plot twists and exellent performance of October Kingsley I will be quite surprised. Released by the Troma aquisitions team it is a fine addition to that family. A cult favorite that just doesn't know it yet, rent, buy, beg, borrow but don't steal (it's degrading). 10/10.
