Seed (2007)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Uwe Boll
Starring:
Michael Pare/Detective Bishop
Will Sanderson/ Max Seed
Ralf Moeller/Warden Calgrove
Jodelle Ferland/Emily
Plot:
Sam Seed, an insane mass murderer, is scheduled for execution at the hands of Warden Calgrove. After three attempts to electrocute he's still alive. The executioner, Calgrove & the doctor collectively agree, that the breathing Seed be pronounced dead. He is bound and buried alive. After biting & clawing his way to the surface, Seed, the blood soaked, enraged madman, is now bent on vengeance.
Acting:
There wasn’t much acting in this flick, Michael Pare(Bishop) didn’t really say much and didn’t really seem to give any effort in the main role, Will Sanderson(Seed) was just a big dude with a sack on his head, nothing creepy or cool here, the rest of cast didn’t really matter.
Gore:
There wasn’t a lot of gore here and I was really counting on it with the lack of plot and character development, but we do get a pick axe to the head, lots of off screen stuff, a guy stabbed in the head, some guys electrocuted, some nail gun action, and a suicide.
T & A:
Not a damn thing here.
Directing:
Uwe made this flick look really dark and a lot of the scenes were way drawn out and lasted too long, unlike his other flicks this is not fast paced, I wish it was because it was boring as shit.
Soundtrack:
We get a way over dramatic score that didn’t fit well if you ask me.
Final thoughts:
I went into Seed thinking it would be a cool slasher type flick with a pretty cool plot, but boy was I wrong. This film was super boring and didn’t explain shit, It looks like this was supposed to take place in the 70’s but it never says, and there is very little dialogue so there is lack of character development. I would say this is Uwe’s worst movie I have seen and that is saying a lot. I give it a 3/10.
