Sharktopus (2010)

Review by David Rupp

A half-shark, half-octopus creature created for the military, creates a whole lot of terror in Mexico while a scientist who helped created it tries to capture/kill it.
Directed by Declan O'Brien
Written by Mike MacLean
Starring: Eric Roberts, Kerem Bursin and Sara Malakul Lane.
Sharktopus falls firmly into the category of so bad it's good. Crazy CG effects, cornball acting, government cover-ups and carnage in Mexico. Those are just some of the things this movie brings to the table. All of the sharktopus kills are bloody, gruesome and obviously computerized, but they are so over the top as to make them fun.
Some memorable scenes to look out for are the bungee jumping, the jet skis, the reporter with the witness and look out for a cameo from Roger Corman himself. Even if Sharktopus is a mediocre made for TV original, it still has an odd appeal and I say if you catch it on watch it but don't go out of your way.
