Shaun Of The Dead (2004)
Review by Jeff
Directed by: Edgar Wright
Starring:
Simon Pegg/Shaun
Nick Frost/Ed
Kate Ashfield/Liz
Lucy Davis/Dianne
Plot:
Shaun isn't having the greatest of times the staff at the appliance store he works in doesn't take him very seriously as temporary boss, his girlfriend Liz has had enough of always meeting at the Winchester Arms along with his best mate, and his relationship with his step dad remains heavily fraught. And now the living dead have risen and are spreading their zombie curse to everyone into which they can get their teeth. Just doesn't seem worth getting out of bed some days.
Acting:
The acting in this film is great Simon Pegg(Shaun)does a great job playing the normal everyday guy, and his buddy Nick Frost(Ed) does a amazing job playing his sidekick that doesn’t give a fuck what anyone thinks. The rest of the cast is wonderful and is what makes this a great film.
Gore:
There is lots of red here, we get a pipe through the stomach, zombies getting run down, some biting, a pole through the stomach, dart to the head, guy getting ripped to pieces, and some gut munching, don’t forget “you got red on ya”.
T & A:
Nothing here.
Directing:
Edgar made this film look real nice, the environment was great and the camera shots were solid.
Soundtrack:
The score was good, and we get some rock music here and there, there are some funny jukebox moments too.
Final thoughts:
This film is always great to watch, it’s a movie that almost anyone could enjoy cause it has a lot of different elements in it such as it’s a horror, comedy, and even a chick flick. I would say if like zombie films and or comedy flicks you should check this one out mate. I give this film a 8/10.
