Stephen Romano Presents Shock Festival (2009)
Review by David Rupp

3 Disc Collection Includes Over 7 Hours of Grindhouse Audio and Video Footage

Take a wild journey through the exploitation movie scenes of the 1970s and 1980s with this collection of hundreds of actual previews of coming attractions, television commercials and radio spots for the sleaziest, sexiest most off-the-wall films ever made - all digitally re-mastered from original film elements. This is the ultimate collection of classic exploitation and horror trailers, TV ads and radio spots. This 3-disc set includes new audio and video tribute media, collectable poster and full-color liner notes.

I have to come out, right off the bat and admit that I haven't read the book that this DVD set was intended to be the companion piece to....But I sure will. As a lover of sleaze, horror and just plain odd cinema, Stephen Romano has put together a collection to rival the 42nd Street Forever collections. Add to this some fun and insightful commentaries, an entire disc of MP3 audio spots from days gone by, and some very entertaining original trailers and you have one hell of a package to keep you drooling and frothing for hours.

One small problem I had as well as others who screened this with me agreed, was the over use at times of the aged filmstrip effect. That's it. I highly reccoment you watch this, own this, gift this 3 disc mana from Grindhouse Heaven, 10/10
