Slime City (1988)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Greg Lamberson

Starring:
Robert C. Sabin/Alex
Mary Huner/Lori/Nicole
Dennis Embry/Roman

Plot:
When Alex and his virginal girlfriend Lori move into a New York City apartment, they fall victim to blood-thirsty supernatural forces that have horrifying plans for them. The apartment is haunted by the restless spirits of an occultist named Zachary and his fanatical followers who had committed mass suicide years before. Seduced by a mysterious woman, Alex is gradually possessed by the diabolical Zachary. Only Lori can battle the putrid powers of darkness and save Alex’s soul when he transforms into a murdering, melting monster…a hideous slime-splattered demon that cannot be stopped.

Acting:
The acting in this flick was pretty bad in a good way, Robert C. Sabin(Alex) was ok in the main role and was real good when he was serious, Mary Huner(Lorie/Nicole) was real good and I was shocked to see that she played both roles I couldn’t even tell, on one side she was the goodie goodie and on the other a slutty rocker.

Gore:
I was a little let down by the gore, I thought this would be like Street Trash gory, we get a head’s smashed in, a girl cut up, lots of slime, a guy stabbed, a arm ripped off, stabbing, guts ripped out, and a head cut off.

T & A:
None here this was shocking.

Directing:
Greg did a pretty good job making this this look real gritty, and also gave us some good nasty slime.

Soundtrack:
We get a odd but pretty cool jazz type of score.

Final thoughts:
Street Trash was a little disappointing to me, I heard it was a lot like Street Trash and had tons of gore and nasty slime, but really the gore was kind of tame and the slime wasn’t all that gross looking. The concept of the movie was cool but could have been made a lot better. I would say though if you like Troma flicks then maybe you should give this a rent if you see it. I give it a 4/10.
