Spiral (2007)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Adam Green & Joel Moore
Starring:
Joel Moore/Mason
Amber Tamblyn/Amber
Zachery Levi/Berkeley
Plot:
A reclusive telemarketer has only one semblance of a friend: His telecommuter boss. But the his social circle seems to improve greatly when a co-worker enters his life. Only as he begins to sketch his new friend's portrait, disturbing voices from the phone man's past threaten to lead him into a network of destruction.
Acting:
The acting is the huge strong point to this film, Joel Moore(Mason) is great a crazy quiet dude and I couldn’t think of anyone better to play his role, Amber Tamblyn(Amber) is real good in her role and is very likeable, Zachery Levi(Berkley) plays a asshole through most of the film and it’s real easy to dislike this guy.
Gore:
None of that stuff here at all other than some bloody hands, I was pretty let down here.
T & A:
Not a thing, but then again it was pg-13.
Directing:
Adam and Joel did a ok job here, the shots are awesome and they really liked to use the color red throughout the film, yea a lot of red but no blood, lame.
Soundtrack:
We get tons jazz music, and a jazz score, it was way to much of the same thing, I have no problem with jazz music but it’s overdone when you combine it with the score.
Final thoughts:
Spiral was nothing like I thought it was going to be, I knew it wasn’t going to be like Hatchet but I just thought it would have been more of a horror movie like it was made out to be and not a artsy drama. I’m not going bash this movie, but to me it wasn’t a horror film so I will say if your going to pick this up don’t count on it being scary, count on it depressing you. I give it a 2/10.
