Plot:
On the day after his fortieth birthday, George Grieves goes to the Mt. Abaddon Hospital for a routine procedure of colonoscopy with. Along his birthday party, his friends and family tell many cases of medical errors, and George is worried about. After the surgery, George finds that his surgery had complications because of a homonymous patient, and he had received a thoracoscopic sympathectomy instead. While interned, George discloses bizarre and dark secrets about the East Wing of the hospital while his wife and family have to take a decision about his fate.
Acting:
I have some mixed feelings about the acting in this film, I don’t know if it was the actors I didn’t like or the characters that being said Thomas Cavanagh(George) plays the rich family man that has everything in life, I wasn’t bought on his acting he seemed like the tv actor like most of people in this movie, Katherine Cunningham-Eves(Zoe) was ok as the nurse but she wasn’t around in a lot of the movie just here and there, the rest of the cast is there but nothing much to comment about.
Gore:
This is the unrated edition so we tons of bloodshed…. On second thought why is this unrated? Because we only get some cut fingers and toes, yea pretty lame.
T & A:
We get a half of a boob shot, that’s about it.
Directing:
Tony liked to dish out the flashbacks in this movie, and he made it look very “dreamlike”, but other than that it was a pretty basic looking film.
Soundtrack:
We get a very dramatic score that was real nice, possibly a little to good for this movie.
Final thoughts:
Well like most people out there that went to the video store to rent a movie seen this cover and was like this should be a cool gruesome flick to watch, I mean it has a bloody knife on the cover and says its unrated, and the back of box makes it sounds pretty gory, but no its anything but that, this movie was trying to be one of those mind fuck movies like Jacobs Ladder or Mulholland Drive, some people might not see what’s coming, but I could call it half way through, a and it didn’t deliver. I myself didn’t like this film but some people may, so check it out if you want but I wouldn’t recommend it. I give it a 1/10.
