Taintlight (2009)

Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Chris Seaver
Starring:
Meredith Host/Stella
A.J. Stabone/Jack
Kurt Indovina/Edgar
Jesse Green/Razor McBleed
Plot:
Taintlight is the tale of Stella, a young girl who falls in love with an ancient, beautifully-be haired bloodsucker named Edgar. They struggle to stay together in the midst of vampire carnage, but a love triangle bubbles up when a Michael Jackson-loving werewolf named Jack comes forward professing his own love for Stella. Meanwhile, a rival group of "real" vampires led by the evil Razor McBleed are on the prowl, looking to put the stake to Edgar so they can feast on Stella and the rest of Bonejack Heights.
Acting:
The acting in this film was hilariously good, Meredith Host (Stella) and Kurt Indovina (Edgar) play off each other great and do a top notch job parodying the douchebags from the Twilight series. A.J. Stabone (Jack) was funny as always and I thought added a lot to the movie.
Gore:
The gore was lacking here but it was ok we get some off screen goodies, some biting, lots of fight scenes that are hilarious and a Frisbee to the stomach.
T & A:
None of that stuff here.
Directing:
Chris does a real good job with the close up’s and slow shots that mimic how bad the crap is from Twilight, he does a great job using the places he has to shoot with such a small budget.
Soundtrack:
Once again in LBP fashion we get some SKA music, a little metal and a great score that adds humor to the flick.
Final thoughts:
Taintlight is another movie from the LBP crew that I thought was very funny and did a great job showing how stupid Twilight is. The flick looked really good, they must have got some new equipment because it’s one of the best looking and sounding films to date. I think anyone that enjoys the humor and style that LBP films has to offer will love the hell out of this, I say it’s a must see. I give it a 9/10.
