Teeth (2007)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Mitchell Lichtenstein
Starring:
Jess Weixler/Dawn
John Hensley/Brad
Lenny von Dohlen/Bill
Hale Appleman/Tobey
Plot:
Dawn is a proud virgin and the most active member of her local chastity group. Though she struggles with every ounce of her willpower to resist the pleasures of sex, Dawn finds efforts to remain chaste repeatedly challenged by her disturbed stepbrother, Brad and others. When Dawn is sexually assaulted and discovers that her vagina actually has teeth, she struggles to comprehend what is going on while experiencing both the benefits and drawbacks of this strange new revelation.
Acting:
he acting in this movie was ok in a very odd way, Jess Weixler(Dawn) was good in her role playing the odd good girl, her facial expressions were great as she could really make you feel sorry for her, the stand out of the movies for me was John Hensley(Brad) he plays such a funny asshole and some of the things he does and says your like wow. The rest of cast was ok but played minor roles.
Gore:
Oddly enough there wasn’t a lot of gore here, but we get some mangled penises, and some bit off fingers.
T & A:
We get one pair of boobs and some guys butt shots, oh yea and some torn off schlongs.
Directing:
Mitchell made this film look like a dark comedy, but a lot of stuff I just couldn’t see the humor in, we also get some pretty slick camera shots and the overall look of the film was nice.
Soundtrack:
We get a pretty mild score that didn’t stand out to much to me.
Final thoughts:
I went into Teeth thinking it would be a goofy dark comedy, but to me it had a lot of serious stuff going on like rape throughout the film that made a lot of the dark humor not so funny. The concept of the movie was very original to me, but I would have liked to see this as a strait up comedy/horror flick and less on the rape, and also if you think your going to see a vagina with teeth your not, yes this was very disappointing to me. I give this film a 6/10.
