The Changeling
Review by Jeff

Directed by: Peter Medak

Starring:
George C. Scott/John
Trish Van Devere/Claire
Melvyn Douglas/Senator

Plot:
After the death of his beloved wife and daughter, hit by a truck in a snowing road upstate New York, the composer and music professor John Russell (George C. Scott) moves to Seattle to teach music in the local university. He leases a huge mansion in Chessman Park that belongs to the Historical Society and has been empty for twelve years. John hears some weird noises always at 6:00 AM and later he experiences the contact of the ghost of a child that lived many decades ago in the house. He researches the history of the house, and discloses a despicable secret.

Acting:
The acting in this film was great, George C. Scott(John) was great and had a real strong lead role, Trish Van Devere(Claire) seemed real sweet and showed real emotion in the film, both there charecters worked real well together and made this movie what it is.

Gore:
We don’t get any gore here, but it’s a ghost story so yea there is no need for a bunch of gore and stuff.

T & A:
Nah nothing to add to here.

Directing:
Peter did a great job here, the setting of them film and some of his camera shots were chilling I remember the first time watching this film I was pretty freaked out, plus the main thing to the movie was the great use of sound effects, they just don’t do it like this anymore.

Soundtrack:
We get a very cool classical piano type of score that works real well in the film.

Final thoughts:
This is probably one of better ghost/haunting films out there, it has great acting, real eerie moments throughout the film, and a pretty good twist at the end. If you are a fan of ghost/haunting type of movies this a classic and I would say must be seen. I give it a 8/10.
